Bridget is a legal practitioner and policy advisor with over 13 years of experience supporting governments, businesses, and civil society organizations across Africa. She specializes in trade and investment law, regulatory compliance, and digital governance, with a strong focus on helping organizations navigate complex legal and policy environments.

Through her leadership of Astertax Consulting, Bridget provides tailored advisory services on data protection, trade and investment frameworks, and regulatory risk management. She also advises on cross-border transactions and compliance strategies that enable businesses and nonprofits to grow sustainably while meeting their legal obligations.

Bridget’s experience spans both public and private sectors as well as civil society. She has practiced as an Associate at DLA Piper Africa (Manokore Attorneys), where she advised on property developments, energy, and infrastructure PPPs. She has served as a Legal Officer at Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce, contributing to trade and investment policy reform. She currently serves as Regional Legal Advisor (Africa) with International Senior Lawyers Project, supporting social enterprises and civil society on issues including digital rights, freedom of expression, and environmental justice.

Bridget holds an LLM in International Economic Law (UNISA) and advanced training in international trade law and policy, impact investing, sustainable development, systems change, AI Ethics, and data protection. She is a member of the Law Society of Zimbabwe, Pan African Lawyers Union, Women in AI Governance, and Catalyst Now Network.

Josephine is an expert in business and human rights; social, climate, and environmental justice and natural resource governance. With degrees in law and social sciences, she specialises in facilitating systems change through research, training, education, and stakeholder engagement. For over a decade, she has developed skills and expertise in human rights due diligence, corporate accountability and sustainability, legal and policy design and analysis and building responsible supply chains that respect human rights and protect the environment.

Josephine has collaborated with communities, institutions, NGOs, and stakeholders across Africa and globally. Driven by a deep commitment to systemic change, she works to help communities, businesses, and the planet adopt sustainable, human rights-centered, and equitable approaches.
